Here is a remarkable Aglaspid of the species Leptaglaspis schmidti from the lower Ordovician of Morocco with a length of about 121 mm. This specimen shows a very rich contrast and a detailed preservation- Agalaspids are a extinct sister group of the Trilobites. The closest today living related animal group are horse shoe craps, the Xiphosurida. Agalaspids are widely distributed but fossil finds are anyway seldom. The Matrix messures about 220 x 160 mm.
