This is a decorative crinoid plate with two fossil sea lilies of the species Platycrinites basicraniatus. This specimen comes from an unusual location in the Lodgepole Formation of Montana. The Lodgepole Formation of Montana is apparently relatively difficult to access, but this site has provided some outstanding fossil finds. The two fossil sea lilies measure about 47 & 42 mm. |
