Products description

In this Burmese amber are two inclusions from the cretaceous  age of Myanmar.
On the one hand, the piece shows a fossil ant of the Gerontoformica genus together with a small beetle. The fossil ant could be the species Gerontoformica orientalis (Engel & Grimaldi, 2005). For a more precise determination, the amber would have to be ground even further.
Multbile insects in one piece of amber are not that unusual in Myanmar.
