Products description

[Synonym : Acidaspis prevosti BARRANDE, 1846 = Odontopleura prevosti*]

Here is a good example with two near to complete specimens of Odontopleura ovata.
One of the trilobites does have both librigena. The Matrix is about 43 x 42 mm large.

This trilobite species is sometimes labelled as “Odontopleura prevostia”.
It seems that Barrande does not know the publication of Emmrich from the year 1839. Or he decided to ignore that paper for his scientific work because the differences of the preservation, fazias and origin of  Emmrich’s material. However is the older Taxon Odontopleura ovata Emmrich, 1839 the valid one and the younger Acidaspis prevosti BARRANDE, 1846 is an invalid synonym.
