Here is a very decorative fossil dragonfly from the lithographic Solnhofen Limestone from Eichstätt.
This Solnhofen Dragonfly belongs to the species Mesuropetala muenster and shows a fine and detailed preservation. Also the head and body is nice preserved as well. This fossil dragonfly also shows a picturebook posing on the plate. The "Solnhofen Dragonfly" itself has a wing span of about 94 mm and is about 73 mm long.
