Here is a British Ediacarian fossil plate from Long Mynd s in Shropshire. These Precambrian fossils have been already mentioned by Salter 1856 as trace fossils. However the true importance of this fossil find was not realised instantly. The finds from Shoprshire represent a shallow water environment. Medusinites is generaly rare in Long Mynd successions. With the exeption of a few layer of the Burway Formation where this discoidal taxa is very abundant . This place shows therefore numerous specimens with a sitze up to 2,5 – 3 mm. | |||
