This is a rarely offered trilobite of the species Colpocoryphe grandis from Portugal. The trilobite species Colpocoryphe grandis is better known from the lower Ktaoua Formation (Ordovician) in the region around Alnif, Morocco. In the Cabeco do Peao Fromation of Macao in Portugal, this species represents a local peculiarity. Again, Colpocoryphe grandis is more commonly found in a horizon.
This specimen is an interesting specimen of a Colpocoryphe grandis, which does not originate from Morocco.
