|This is a trilobite rarity from the genus Tropidocoryphe out of the Pragian of Morocco.|
Tropidocoryphe has to be called in Morocco generally to be quite rare,
But the most Tropidocoryphe finds are from the Eifilium age and not the Pragian.
This trilobite presents in a rich detail level on a beautiful piece of natural shaped matrix. The trilobite find was almost a "Lucky split" so that this Trilobite has not been split due the collecting in a cross section. Additionally the preparation spot is very small.
This Tropidocoryphe is from the Pragian of Jebel Marakib. The site is located in the south of Jebel Marakib and is called by Moroccan collectors "Mhersh" or also "Merharsch".
This specimen shows many similarity’s with Tropidocoryphe mauretanica G.Alberti 1967.
The roundish extended Galbella with sperely granulation and promned and wide preglabelarfield fit well Tropidocoryphe mauretanica. However, the border furrow of its Gabella is wider and deeper. Also allows the preglabelarfield lets only recognize one stipe instead of 3-4 striations.
