|Here is a ediacarian fossil that belongs to the rare species Paleoplatoda segmentata.|
This Vendian species was discriped by Mikhail A. Fedonkin in 1979 from the white sea cost at the Onega pensula. P. segmentata is still the only known species of its genus. It has also been reported from the Ediacarian of the Bhim basin in India.
This specimen offers a very detailed preservation and it is about 11 mm wide.
