Products description
Here is a relatively rare fossil nautilus of the species Digonioceras excavatum from the Middle Jurassic of France.
A nautilus is not an ammonite. They belong to different subclasses of cephalopods and differ clearly in shell structure, anatomy, and evolutionary history. They are often found together at ammonite localities, but they are always significantly rarer.
