Products description

This unusual Lloydolithus is preserved in bright pyrite that seems to be stable. This remineralization , probably chalcopyrite, is induced by contact metamorphism of the original Ordovician mudstones by younger (Carboniferous) intrusions of igneous magma. The Trilobite was carefully cleaned to bring the golden Pyrite to sparkle.

Meadowtown, Shropshire, UK
Size Trilobite:about 14 mm
Age:Ordovizium, Llandeilo (Ca. 470 Mill. Jahre)
