Products description

This large specimen of Solenopeltis is the best that I see in the last years.
It is completely natural and comes without any restoration, colouration or reconstruction at all. The Trilobite shows an outstanding level of fine details what is specially for this location very rare. Its habit reminds strongly Selenopeltis buchi from the Barrandian area. This Maroccain specimen seems to be a bit shorter, more rounded in the body. But this can maybe also coursed by ontogenetic or preservation factors. The locality is a about 5 to 9 km large region south-east of Erfoud / Tafilalt. The sediment of this area are as OR5b described in the geological map what means an age of the middle Caradoc.
The pice comes a an quasi perfect split pair. The plate of the positive side measures about 220 x 180 mm.
Nice Sample of this typical trilobite.
