Here we offer a very interesting specimen of a rare Grasshopper species from the lithographic limestone of Solnhofen. The Insect is shown from the top, both wings and the spring legs are nicely spread out. The left leg is partial covered by the left wing. The body show some traces of the segmentation. The wings show also some nice details. With 50 mm is this a very large specimen of the genus Elcana, the normal size is about 30 – 35 mm. The plate is unbroken. | |||
