Here is a very large and outstanding preserved fossil insect from the lithographic limestone of Solnhofen. This fossil specimen of a waterbug is in organic substance preserved, as it is visible on the black light picture.  What is very uncommon even for fossil insects from Solnhofen. The water bug has a impressive body length of about 52 mm.
