Here is a fantastic tree fern fossil from the classical Jurassic site of Cerin in France. This fossil offers a very aesthetic look together with a detailed preservation. The cycad it self is about 89 mm long.
The quarries of Cerin are closed for more than hundred years. The collecting for private collectors is also strictly forbidden. There are since 1974 some scientific excavations in the lithographic limestone of Cerin. There will be no new material be available to the fossil market. The fossil locality of Cerin is the “French Solnhofen” the faunal and floristic elements are extremely similar as there preservation.
