| Here is a typical “Mud Bug” from the Jebel Zquilma of the species Austerops smoothops. Since the new publication of von McKellar and Chatterton in 2009 is this species accounted to the new established phacopid genus Austerops. The preservation variance “Mud Bug” is a term that is used for mostly enrolled trilobites that a weathered out the rock and that need no further preparation. | |||
