Here is a remarkable brittle star of the species Bundenbachia beneckei in a rarely seen absolute top preservation. The fossil is very inflated, heavily pyritisized and shows the finest details. The species Bundenbachia beneckei once was revised as Taeniaster (by SPENCER, 1934), but has been re-evaluated by new scientific investigations There are also some other sysnonym of this species known. [1] The Fossil itself measures about 53 mm. [1] Glass 2006, New observations on some poorly known protasterid ophiuroids from the Lower Devonian Hunsrück Slate of Germany | |||
