Here we have a nice trilobite plate with four specimens of Modocia weeksens from the upper cambrian Weeks - Fm. of Utah. The phenomenon of so called “Trilobite Clusters” is known from numberless localities of different ages. There are also many theories that try to explain. However the theory of moulting places does not apply on this piece. One of the trilobites is presented from the ventral body side and it shows the hypostome. This is a indicator that this trilobite fossil is not a exuvia. The plate it self is about 70 x 79 mm large. | |||
