Products description

Here is a good and inexpansive example of Reedops pembertoni.

Specimens of this just newly established species were in the past mostly labelled as Reedops maurulus Alberti, 1970, because of the high affinity of the morphology on both species.
Even the lens pattern of both species is close to be the same. One of the most significant differences between both species is the on R. maurulus stronger and longer Occipital furrow that reaches down to the Genal field. In this feature is R. maurulus  more similar to Reedops cephalotes. Reedops pembertoni shows here more affinity to the Czech trilobite species Reedops broni (Barrande, 1846). The partial revision of the Phacopida by McKeller and Chatterton in 2009 provide this trilobite group quite a bit more order in systematic.
