Here is a very nice Kepplerites gowerianus from the British middle Jurassic. The Ammonite is preserved down to the first juvenile turn. This fossil also shows that on some ammonite species the young (juvenile) specimens show a stronger ornamentation of the shell than adult ones of the same species. | |||
