Here is a wonderful specimen of a large Limulus of the species Mesolimulus walchi from Solnhofen with track.
This horseshoe crab is perfectly centred on a nice shaped plate with very attractive colour patterns. The Limulus fossil it self is about 189 mm long and offers a superb preservation and a very good contrast to the matrix. The Limulus is shown from the ventral body side.
