This large Macrocephalites macrocephalus from the Porta Westfalica was cut in cross section and polished to reveal its inner structures. The inside is very colourful and reveals that each chamber is filled with a different sediment and shows a difernt colour and structure. The cut line is very thin to preserve as much ammonite substance as possible. The ammonite it self is nicely preserved and shows the most of the inner coils from the out and inside. | |||
