This is a nice and interesting ammonite piece from the Oxford Clay of Ashton Keynes. The piece is prepared from both sides so that it offers two show sides. The largest ammonite measures about 79 mm in diameter an it has very clear predatory bite mark on it end of the living chamber. This is a very typical injury on ammonites that is assumed to be bitten by predatory fishes. | |||
