Burmeisterella vixarmata WENNDORF 1990

Here is a very large and rare trilobite of the species Burmeisterella vixarmata from the german lower Devonian of the Eifel Mountains. This Burmeisterella even shows the hypostome and some of the original spine are nicely visible as well. The trilobit is nearly free on restorations. Only a small piece on the right pygidial rim is partial casted from the negative side. The matrix was a few millimetres to small fort his huge trilobite. But the negative was and still is complete. This Burmeisterella vixarmata comes with both sides, the head shield is turned over. The specimen shows a salter embedding. This fossil is a large and displayable piece that has many interesting detailed to offer.
