This is a nice fossil limulus, more precisely it is a Mesolimulus walchi from the lithographical limestone of Eichstaett. The horseshoe crab offers a nice and inflated preservation. The limulus is shown from the upper body side. Fossil horseshoe crabs are one of the most famous "Solnhofen Fossils". Its maybe beside of there status a s living fossils also the very good preservation in a limulus in Solnhofen can be found. | |||
