This is a very large Solnhofen Limulus of the species Mesolimulus walchi. The horseshoe crab has a impressive body length of about 192 mm. Additionly the Limulus offers an outstanding level of detail. Even the facets of the eye are preserved which is extremely rare the case on Mesolimulus walchi from Eichstätt. Even the serration of the tail sting is received detailed. The Limulus is excaved from the dorsal body side.
