Here is a rare horseshoe crab of the genus Euproops from the upper carboniferous of the Piesberg. This "Paleozoic Limulus" belongs most likely to the species Euproops bifidus. But this Xiphosurida group is still scientific debated. However this Euproops offers a rich and detailed preservation, it is a very good example piece. The fossil limulus is accompanied with a plant fossil of the genus Annularia. | |||
