This is a wonderful fossil dragonfly from the lithographic "Solnhofen Limestone".
This "Solnhofen Dragonfly" belongs to the species Mesuropetala muenster and shows a fine and detailed preservation of the lace structures of the wings. Also the head and body is nice preserved as well. This fossil dragonfly also shows a picturebook posing on the plate. The "Solnhofen Dragonfly" itself has a wing span of about 76 mm and is about 79 mm long.
