Here is a fossil water strider of the species Chresmoda obscura from the lithographic limestone of Eichstätt. All the 6 legs are preserved and the fossil is nicely centered on the plate. On Chresmoda obscura has term term water strider has to be understand as a trivial name. How ever Chresmoda obscura had been originally described as fossil water strider it is today seen as related with Phasmatodea. Without the legs is this Chresmoda obscura about 49 mm long.
