Here is a Ediacara biota fossil of the famous species Dickinsonia costata in a relative good preservation. This Dickinsonia costata mesures about 11 x 9 mm. The systematic status of the genus Dickinsonia is still controversial disputed. Even a association with the fungi or a completely unknown kingdom where discussed in the past. Mostly accepted is status of Dickinsonia as animals (Metazoa). This shows again how different the Ediacara - Fossils are from “modern” life on earth. | |||
