This is a nice s pathological trilobite of the species Diademaproetus praecursor from the classical Jebel Zguilma site. The left genal spine of this Diademaproetus praecursor is strongly shorted but already in a state of regeneration. So it is to assume that the injury occurred servile molting cycles ago. This specimen is a nice example for the remarkable capability of trilobites for regeneration. The trilobite presents itself in a pleasing arched posing and is nicely centered on its naturally shaped matrix. Completely prone would this trilobite be about 29 mm long. | |||
