This large Morocco Trilobite belongs to the classical species Crotalocephalina gibbus. The nicely prone trilobite shows well on the natural shaped matrix. The trilobite species Crotalocephalina gibbus was found relative frequently in the past at the Dicranurus Couche of Atchana. In these days the workers throw a specimen of Crotalocephalina gibbus even away if it had just the slightest flaw. Because this trilobite was relative hard to be prepared and a Crotalocephalina was way less desired than a rare Dicranurus. This has mostly changed today due the extensive mining of the Dicranurus Couche of Atchana. Today is Crotalocephalina gibbus still not the most rare trilobite of Morocco, but you don’t see them so very frequently anymore. And as ever, nice specimens of a Trilobite are always rare. | |||
