This is an unusual and quite rare trilobite of the genus Paralejurus from Pragian of Maharch. These is a new, probably undescribed trilobites species. This trilobite differs very clearly from all other kinds Paralejurus from Morocco. However, the broard Gabella and the crescent facial sutur together with the wide rachis are typical for the genus Paralejurus. Whereas the highly flattened habit appear rather untypical. The strongly ornamentated Pygidium would if isolated found be easyly be assind to the genus Platyscutellum. So a trilobite with very interesting features and some very nice detailes. Aditonaly shows this Paralejurus an nice Pathology at the pygidium. The 5th pygidial furow splits off in two ends. If completly prone would this trilobite be about 56 mm long. | |||
