Here is a inexpensive example of a Ediacara biota fossil of the species Dickinsonia menneri . This Dickinsonia menneri mesures about 6 mm. D. menneri has a mush wider segmentation of the'pneus-chambers compared to D. costata. The systematic status of the genus Dickinsonia is still controversial disputed. Even a association with the fungi or a completely unknown kingdom where discussed in the past. Mostly accepted is status of Dickinsonia as animals (Metazoa). This shows again how different the Ediacara Fossils are from “modern” life on earth.
