This is a interesting trilobite of the genus Leonaspis from the Kohlihapeltis couche of Atchana. The spines are remarkable wide angled, relative to the body axis. Completely prone would this trilobite be about 23 mm long. So this Leonaspis species is nearly so wide as it is long. The pygidium shows some affinity to the Leonaspis hastata ALBERTI 1967. The glabella seems to be lightly more convex and the occipital node I may a little more prominent. The pygidium is very similar to the heliotype specimen of Leonaspis hastata. | |||
