This is a fossil fish of the species Maurolicus muelleri from the "Pliocene Marecchia River Formation" of Poggio Berni near Rimini, Italy. This fish species is not extinct and it is known as "Mueller's Pearlside". The fossil fish itself is about 45 mm long. | |||
