Here is a fossil wood wasp with a remarkable large size from the lithographic limestone near Solnhoifen. This jurassic insect belongs to the species Myrmicium heeri. It is the lower plate and there is also a ammonite of the Neochetoceras sterapsis on this plate. This Myrmicium is approximately 72 mm long and the ammonite has a diameter of about 31 mm.
