Here is a interesting fossil from the Devonian of Morocco with two trilobites. On the front side is a wonderful Crotalocephalina with long pygidial spines that likely belongs to the species Crotalocephalina africana (ALBERTI, 1967). The backside does show a enrolled trilobite of the genus Reedops. Schraut describes in 2000 the subspecies Reedops intermedius chlupaci that shows some affinity to the specimen. So this Maharch Reedops could be likely a new species. Both Trilobites offer a nice preservation with a high level of detail. The cubic matrix bloc has natual surfaces on all sides and also offers a decorative colour gradation. The Crotalocephalina is about 44 mm long and the Reedops merues about 16 mm.Matrix | |||
