This is a ver detailed preserved Morocco Trilobite of the species Morocops lebesus from the Timrhanrhart formation of the famous Jbel Zguilma site. This speices was already esabliched in 2006 by Chatterton et al still under the “bucket” genus Phacops. In 2008 Mckellar and Chatterton assigned Phacops lebesus to the new genus Barrandeops. However Barrandeops has to be regarded as junior synonym of Morocops, Basse 2006. For full detail read Viersen, Holland und Koppka, 2017. So we have here a trilobite taxon with a turbulent systematic history. Completely prone would this here offered specimen would be about 29 mm long. | |||
