Here is a decorative crinoids fossil of the classical species Encrinus liliiformis. It was found in the Triassic of the Alverdissen site in Germany. This fossil plate comes from a old collection at was mainly prepared with potassium hydroxide as it was not unusual back in the days. This kind of time intensive fossil preparation has definatiliy also its upsides as it can be seen on this piece. The plate shows a rich accompanying fauna such as brachiopods and isolated Sea Lilly stem segments from Encrinus liliiformis. The Plate has polished stand surfaces. A lot of time and efforts was invested in this fossil, even it is not perfect. This Encrinus liliiformis specimen is about 185 mm long. | |||
