Here is a fine and relative rare Trilobite of the genus Cyphaspis from the Pragian of Mhersh. The species features and the general appearance of this trilobite comparable with the Jebel Oufaten type of Cyphaspis. Although this one is from a considerably older strata. The Devonian locality Mhersh (also known as Maharch) is located in the southern Maider basin. The Pragian sediments of Mhersh and the Jebel Mrakib provide a very rich and unique trilobite fauna. This Cyphaspis shows a fine and detailed preservation. It preparation shows that it is not always beneficial to have the spines free standing on the genuns Cyphaspis. | |||
