Here is a wonderfull fossil sycamore leaf of the species Platanus achteligi from the Miocene of Germany. The local lithostratigraphic unit is known as “Oberen Süßwasser Molasse“ or Short OSM and mostly corospond to an Serravallian age. The fossil leaf shows a very detailed and colourful preservation that results in a grat contrast of the fossil to its matrix. | |||
