Here is a detailed fossil leaf ot the rare species Lomatia coloradensis from the Green River Formation of Utah. The genus Lomatia belongs the the famaly of Proteaceae. The most famous today livind species Lomatia tasmanica beats servile world records at once.
The Tasmanian clonal colony of Lomatia tasmanica is with a age of at least 43600 one of the oldest Plants known on earth. This Lomatia colony is genetecly only one plant and with a length of about 1200 m one of largest and one of the rarest too. Only one colony is known in the wild. How ever this Lomatia coloradensis leaf here is about 42 mm long.
