Here is a fossil fish from Solnhofen which belongsto the species Ascalabos voithi.
This fossil fish offers a special depth of detail perservation, even surface structures of the scales is preserved. In addition, they also show traces of the original pigmentation. Also in the lithographic Solnhofen Limestone are fossils with colour pattern preservation rare.
The Ascalabos is about 79 mm long.
