This is a fossil eel-like fish of the species Hayenchelys germanus from the upper cretaceos of the Lebanon. The species was originally established by Oliver Perry Hay as Urenchelys germanus. This fossil fish would completely prone be about 104 mm long. This Hayenchelys germanus also shows the content in the digestive tract. It can be assumed that Hayenchelys had predatory diet. However, the intestinal contents are in an advanced state of maceration. It may be the spine of a small prey fish. | |||
