This fossil insect plate from the Green River Formation shows beautiful preserved beetle of the genus Anobium together with two fossil ants of the genus Formica. This fossil beetle is probably to be placed in the species Anobium lignitum. This type of beetle is commonly known as furniture beetle or house borer. Anobium larvae are also known as wood worms. The fossil beetle itself is about 10 mm long. | |||
