| This is a beautiful trilobite of the species Cyphaspis ceratophthalmus from the Devonian of Gees near Gerolstein. It is a classic find directly from classical site of the “Pelm-Salmer Weg” from the time before the ban on collecting. The right eye and the base of the right genal spine have been restored. There was a shard missing from the matrix, the spots with restorations are marked in red on a picture. The trilobite offers a very detailed preservation and presents itself nicely centered on its decorative matrix. Eifel trilobites of this quality are not common. | |||
