| This is a fossil shark tooth of the species Carcharodon hastalis from the Miocene of the USA. The fossil shark tooth is on a piece of original matrix. It is either mounted on this or actually simply glued on again. It cannot be determined with certainty whether it is a subsequent composition. The matrix and the fossil are original, but it is quite possible that they were combined afterwards. The fossil shark tooth is about 23 mm long. | |||
