Products description

Here is a good specimen of the fossil  Slipper lobster of the species Acanthophoenicides peterpani. The fossil Slipper lobster itself is about 30 mm long.

The Decapod species Acanthophoenicides peterpani is interpreted as a pedomorphic representative within the Scyllaridae. The species name refers to the main character in James Matthew Barrie's children's stories. So Peter Pan, the boy who never grew up.

Age:Lower upper Cretaceous, Cenomanian,  Hakel Formation   (about 100 Ma)
