Here is a priapulid (Priapulida) worm fossil of the species Selkirkia willoughbyi from the Cambrian of the Wheeler Formation from Utha. The Wheeler Formation supplies a whole range of soft body fossils of the Burgess Shale type. However, chitin containing parts are usually better preserved in the Utah conservative Lagersatte. The chitinous cuticle of the body tube is also excellently preserved in this Selkirkia. Whereas the head can be only called faintly preserved on this specimen
This Selkirkia willoughbyi itself is about 12 mm long.
